The 2 snows we got are all melted, so now we get to play in the leaves. Our neighbor raked a huge pile and let Desmond and his Granddaughter jump in them. It was a very fun morning for them. We drug out the orange hat, so Desmond is all ready for the deer hunt.

This snow pile kept him entertained for about an hour.

This winter storm wreaked havoc on the neighborhood. So many trees are broken down. For once I'm glad we don't have any. (I usually am crying for one in the summer for shade) We had to go out and buy new gloves for Desmond - everything else we found in the hand me down box. There were some gloves in the box too, but Desmond needs gloves not to keep his hands warm from the house to the car, but while burrowing in the snow - water proof is a necessity - and guess what, the only water proof ones were in girl colors, so now he sports purple gloves. Can't wait to see what Dad says about that. What's a Mom to do though.

Jeff desperately trying to land a 360. I tell him this would make a great RONIX add. We did as much boating this summer as we would despite Jeff only being home on the weekend. Maybe next summer I can get on the water again. Jeff went out last Sun in between meetings, and it is supposed to snow on Wed. so he is squeezing every last drop of summer that he can.

Now here are the pictures you all came to see. Baby Esther is the sweetest little girl, and such a good baby. She is very lucky to have such great parents who care for her very much.

Desmond would always crawl in the crib when Esther was getting a diaper/clothes change.

Desmond is a huge train fan right now. I'm not a big fan of Thomas, so we did The Little Engine that Could - it turned out soo cute - and we had trains galore with Grandpa and Grandma's help. They brought the train they gave to me when I turned 5, and we set that up in the basement. They also brought the Little Engine that Could puzzle that I remember doing when I was little, and a train cake topper for decoration. We had so much fun.

It really was beautiful.

The water was pitch black because the leaves from the trees had fallen (like making tea). If were sunny, they said we could have seen the bottom. The darker the water the more clear it is.

Desmond slept through part of the tour and missed the first alligator, so we were glad he got to see another one - see the videos below.

Here are Desmond's portioned out pureed spinach ready to freeze. Now before you say poor Desmond, let me tell you Desmond is much happier the more veggies he eats, because it helps him to be more regular.

I am sorting my vitamins into a granny pill sorter as it is impossible to take my vitamins in the morning without Desmond saying ummm, candy ummm - and if I don't take my vitamins in the morning they don't get taken.

Jeff's nutrition goal for the month is to go without snickers.

We would love to hear what everyone else is doing for National Nutrition Month.

March 1st

We started out the month of March wonderfully with a visit and overnight stay from Grandma and Grandpa Al on the first. Desmond's only living Great Grandparents and shame on me for not taking more pictures. It is getting difficult to take pictures of Desmond, because as soon as he sees the camera he wants to look at the picture that was taken. Desmond showed Grandma all of his toys and we took a couple of walks around the neighborhood. Desmond says presh for precious. By the time Grandpa Al left Desmond was calling him 'Buddy Presh'. We treasure these visits from Grandma and Grandpa very much.

This is our exciting project that we have been working on. It has been a lot of work, but totally worth it. The project went pretty fast considering Jeff did it all himself (minus the counter top) with my help, Ray's, and his brother. Here are the before pictures.

We have been super busy this year so far - we are off to a great start. Bullick's came to visit and Desmond had a great time with Rye and Ayda. Then it started snowing, and we bought a sled. We have been going out every evening, so I haven't taken my camera because it is a little dark out, and I don't want it getting squished as we go down the hill. Anyways, the top picture shows what Desmond's cheeks look like after we get back. Any with all of our company, Desmond has learned a new way to ride his horsey. I couldn't get the video to upload, so I added a few pictures so maybe you can see how he rides the horse now.

Jen has just released 4 new products in her store - Pixels By Jen. They are all very fun. Here are the pages that I made with them.

This page was made using the kit 'A Boy's World'
Super fun kit for scapbooking travels, or just boys and their toys.

I used a Template for this page. Templates make for fast and easy pages. I'm not usually a fan of one picture templates - because I'm always trying to cram as many pictures as I can on one page so my scrapbook doesn't turn out too fat. However, you always end up with a couple of pictures that are really special, or stand best by themselves. And that was this picture.

Here is another template of Jens that I used. I loved it because I could fit several pictures on it. However, I saw several layouts with this same template that only used 2 pictures - using the layout like a window and they were darling.

I'm thinking about doing a challenge for myself next week. Scrapbook 5 pages in a week (7 days) any one want to join me???

Arts and Crafts of today

I haven't posted much of his arts and craft except his first painting experience. He loves to paint we probably do it every 2-3 days. Today was his first experience with glue sticks. We made fish bowls and then glued in all pieces. I did one with him so he would know what was going on. Desmond's turned out so cute - I'll probably have to keep it for the scrapbook.

Desmond had just learned 'raining', and said it so cute, and now it has turned to snow. So he still says it's raining. Jeff and I decided that is okay, and just try to teach him that the white stuff on the ground is snow. So all day so far, he has been saying rainin, but when we went outside he said sooooo. Snow isn't going to slow this boy down at all, he loved it. We just need to go shopping for some gloves/mittens.

Norah wasn't going to dress up for Halloween, and neither were we, so we painted pumpkins on Halloween and handed out candy together. We meet Nora, Mom and Brother every Tuesday for play date. It is really good for Desmond, but we are going to have to move inside, as the weather is almost too cold for 2 hours at the park any more.

This is what we do when it is raining and Desmond is begging to go to the pool (which is closed do to the rain.) He puts on his life vest and then starts begging at the door. After Desmond realized this 'pool' wasn't so deep, he wanted the life vest off. Nothing cuter than a naked baby riding his bike. Glad he is still young enough that this is 'allowed'. At what age is it not allowed - when the neighbors start to complain???? We'll start using swim trunks at the community pool and at home.

We met Dad and Mom in Green River at Gramma and Grampa Al's place. We went on a lovely river walk and Desmond loved the water park. We went there Sat. and Sun. with some of the friends . Then Dad and Mom stopped by our house on their way home, so Desmond got lots of Grandparent time.

We are entering another cute baby of the cloth contest. The theme is Beach Bums but if you don't live by the beach any water works. This time with Sally's help we are sure to win :) We took them to the fountains at Centerra outdoor mall. They had so much fun. Desmond was a little braver than Sally and dove right in the water, but Sally was much better at posing. Here's the deal we can either enter one with both babies or enter one of Sally and one of Desmond. I tried some in B/W, but they are much cuter with the bright colors. Let me know which one/ones you think is cutest!! Hurry cause they have to be in on the 27th.

Don't worry about us. We stay nice a cool around here. Most of the time I bring Desmond back in the house with blue lips. He loves to rearrange the sprinklers then turn on the faucet, then run in the sprinkler, run back, turn it off, and then rearrange the sprinklers again. Obviously he has watched and helped Dad do this before.

Gave Desmond yet another hair cut today. He is always going to have a lot of hair. Hopefully we will get to see some family soon and don't want to be the out laws visiting the inlaws. We are done BF. Our plan was to BF until Desmond was 18months so he got weaned 3 months early. I have been trying to encourage him to drink milk from his cup and we went a day without BF, then 2 and now we are on day 4 so I think we are done - bitter sweet. :) These pictures would be twice as cute if he were wearing a cloth diaper - shucks.

We had a wonderful 4th of July wknd. Went to the lake Sat. Jeff got to slalom and Desmond got to play in the water and I got some sun. Sunday we spent the day with Jeff's family. Monday went to Denver to see Body Works with Jon, Jen, Jeb, and ?. It was great to see their new house.

Desmond has been my stirrer lately. Jeff says Desmond cooks just like his Mom :) You have to sample before you serve to make sure it tastes okay!

We thought this horse was way too big for Desmond, but when we got back from our 2 week vacation He jumped right on it and took off!

We did not forget about Father's Day around here. In fact we celebrated down right properly as my Birthday fell on the same day this year. As to why I didn't take any pictures, I don't really know. Jeff and I exchanged an ice cream maker for a pair of Keens. I am loving my Keens, my first pair. As for the ice cream maker it's maiden voyage went just fabulous. We had Jeff's Dad over, Brother and kids, and Sister. Then Byron Jane and Sally stopped by to help us out with the ice cream. It was a wonderful day.

Desmond learned to say 'Here Kitty Kitty Kitty' while we were at the farm. I have been trying for several days to get a video of this so I will have it forever. Desmond has also had an increased interest in his books (which I love). Here he is looking at his picture book saying 'Awwww tikitikitikitiki' and 'woof woof'.
